Status of the planning approval process
The planning approval process by the government agencies constitutes the actual authorisation process for the OPAL. The opinions of public representatives and of residents along the planned pipeline route as well as the recommendations based on the regional planning procedure are all integrated into this authorisation process.
In all three states concerned, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony and Brandenburg, the planning approval processes for the OPAL has already been concluded in favour of the project.
